Pedro Varela Vázquez is a university lecteur in the area of ​​History and Economic Institutions in the Department of Applied Economics at the USC. He is also secretary of the Department of Applied Economics and a member of the Research Group in Business and Sectoral History Studies. Fisheries, Industry and Commerce (GESPIC)

His lines of research focus on the history of technology and innovation, business history, innovation policies, as well as models for estimating the economic impact of renewable energies and sectoral development policies.
