Burghard Baltrusch is president of the 1st José Saramago International professorship at the University of Vigo, where he teaches Portuguese-speaking literatures and cultures and coordinates BiFeGa – Research Group in Literary and Cultural Studies, Translation and Interpretation.
His lines of research include Galician and Portuguese-speaking cultural and literary studies, contemporary Galician and Portuguese-speaking poetry and translation theory.
He is currently the principal researcher of the project "Poesía actuel y politica II: conflicto social y dalogismos poéticos" ( POEPOLIT II , PID2019-105709RB-I00), funded by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.
