Bruno Esperante (A Baña, 1988) is PhD Assistant Professor on Economy History at the Department of Applied Economy, member the research group HISTAGRA of the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC).
His lines of research focus on the analysis of innovation and technological change in agriculture from an economic, socio-institutional and environmental perspective.
Degree in History (2013 USC), Master with Extraordinary Prize in Contemporary History (2014 USC), and International Doctorate in History from the University of Santiago de Compostela (2020 USC) with the thesis: A moto-mecanización da agricultura en Galiza (1939-2000): políticas de innovación, mercados e comunidades labregas”, awared with the VII Premio Valentín Paz Andrade á mellor tese de Economía do ano 2020.
He Completed his postdoctoral trajectory as Juan de la Cierva-Formación fellow in the Departament d’Història Econòmica, Institucións, Política i Economía Mundial, da Universitat de Barcelona (UB) on 2022. He was also PhD Assistan Professor of Economy History at the Deparment of Applied Economy, Structure and History of the University Complutense de Madrid (UCM) at 2023.
He has done five residencies abroad Universität Zürich (Suíza, 2024); Universidade de Coimbra (Portugal, 2022); Trinity College of Dublin (Irlanda, 2018); Purdue University (Estados Unidos, 2017) e na Swedish University of Agricultural Science (Suecia, 2016).
