Ramón Blanco Chao (ORCID: 0000-0002-5220-3956; WOS Researcher IDE: L-3017-2014) is PhD in Geography, Senior Lecturer in the Dept. of Geography, University of Santiago de Compostela. His research activity focuses specifically on coastal geomorphology, especially on rocky coasts, high-energy beaches and morphodynamic changes in the Late Pleistocene and Holocene, as well as on recent erosion and sedimentation processes in beach-dune systems. The research has contributed to the definition of para-periglacial behaviour on the NW Iberian Peninsula coasts, and shed light on the control of morphodynamic inheritance on current processes.
He published more than 65 papers, including 12 articles in JCR journals, and 9 in other journals; 14 book chapters, 3 of them in JCR publishers. He presented 35 papers at national and international conferences. He was also editor of several books and special issues in international journals (Journal of Marine Science and Engineering, Remote Sensing).
He participated as a researcher in 10 projects, being PI of an international project “Cambio climático global e actividade antrópica en hábitats de especial interese para a biodiversidade: unha comparación interhemisférica entre Tierra de Fuego (Arxentina) & NW da Península Ibérica”. Ministerio de Educación e Ciencia. GL2004-3380/BOS.
