30/04/2025

On Wednesday, June 5, a new session of the “Theses in Discussion” cycle will take place at CISPAC, a space for presentation and debate around ongoing doctoral research.

The session will begin at 11:00 with the intervention of Chiara Luce Breccia , PhD candidate in Philosophy at the Universities of Pisa and Florence. Her research delves into Marxist feminism and the Italian feminist movements of the 1970s, with special attention to reproductive work, the concept of class and its intersections with gender. In 2024 she carried out a research stay in the Tuscany Region focused on the analysis of the gender wage gap in the regional labor market. She will present the work “Ground Zero of Social Reproduction: From the House to the Territories” , in which she analyzes feminist practices around social reproduction and care from a territorial perspective.

At 12:00 it will be the turn of Arslan Asghar , PhD candidate in Sociology and Social Research at the Università di Salerno and visiting researcher at CISPAC. His thesis addresses the struggles over housing and unpaid reproductive work carried out by migrant women in southern Italy, from the theories of social reproduction and feminist political ecology. His presentation is entitled “Invisible Labors and Precarious Lives: Migrant Women, Unpaid Work, and Housing Struggles in Southern Italy” .

The session will be held at the Lar do CISPAC and will be open to the interested public.
