On October 28, the 5th Intersectoral Meeting of the Galician Forest Ecosystem, Piñeiros’25, will be held at the Edificio Fontán in the Cidade da Cultura, organized by the Fundación Arume in collaboration with the Galician Forestry Industry Agency. The event will bring together experts and institutional representatives from Galicia, Chile, and Uruguay to strengthen international cooperation around the forest-to-industry value chain and to discuss the future challenges of the forestry sector in a global context defined by sustainability and innovation.
CISPAC will take part in this edition with the round table “The Pine as a Cultural Element in Galicia”, moderated by Lourenzo Fernández Prieto, scientific director of the center. Participants will include Miguel Anxo Seixas, president of the Fundación Castelao; Patricia Blanco, from the Fundación Eduardo Pondal; and Ramón Collazo, president of the Asociación Galega de Carpintería de Ribeira.
Throughout the day, topics such as sustainable architecture, wood-based construction, and forest health will also be discussed, featuring contributions from internationally renowned professionals and researchers. Chile and Uruguay will be the guest countries at this event, which aims to strengthen the dialogue between Galicia and Latin America around wood as an economic, environmental, and cultural resource.
