As part of the commemoration of International Women’s Day, CISPAC is promoting a space for critical reflection on gender-based violence exercised by institutions, both from historical and contemporary perspectives. The event will take place on March 13 at the center’s headquarters and will bring together specialists in history and social sciences to analyze the structural and institutional dimensions of these forms of violence.
The day will feature a presentation by Tamara López Fernández, researcher at HISTAGRA (USC), who will present the report Bodies Under Suspicion: Gender and Re-victimization in Ordinary Francoist Justice, addressing the mechanisms of control, suspicion, and penalization imposed on women during the Franco dictatorship within the judicial system.
Iria Vázquez Silva, from the GETS group (UVigo), will also present Accomplices: Institutional Sexist Violence, focusing on the analysis of complicity and the reproduction of gender-based violence within contemporary institutional structures.
The session will be moderated by Laura Oso Casas, researcher at ESOMI (UDC) and deputy director of CISPAC.
