The Cátedra Internacional José Saramago organizes the presentation of the book “Beyond Sentidiño. New Diasporic Reflections on Galician Culture” (Routledge, 2023) at the University of Vigo.
The event will be held on April 23rd at 12:00 noon in the Meeting Room of the Faculty of Philology and Translation, with free admission. In addition, you can follow the event online through the Remote Campus of the University of Vigo by clicking here (student access: UAdqrn7W).
The session will be attended by the editors Daniel Amarelo and Laura Lesta García (the latter virtually), who will guide the public through the 14 works that make up this interdisciplinary work.
“Beyond Sentidiño” approaches literature, languages and Galician culture from different perspectives of the humanities and social sciences. The volume introduces new concepts that until now were not part of the Galician imaginary, such as xentrification, linguistic imperialism, youth unemployment, de-ruralization and de-industrialization, media control, technocapitalism and gender and sexuality normativity.
