KosmoTech_1200 is a project led by researcher Francisco Prado-Vilar, Distinguished Researcher at the Facultade de Xeografía e Historia of the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela and CISPAC researcher, which combines advanced technology and interdisciplinary research to reconstruct the stone choir and the western narthex of the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, masterpieces of Mestre Mateo. This multidisciplinary laboratory integrates art history, musicology, phenomenology and cognitive neuroscience -especially Material Engagement Theory- to analyze these structures as immersive environments designed to generate multisensory cognitive experiences. The aim is to recover the original dimension of these spaces as intelligent “machines” that shaped the perception and spirituality of medieval communities, offering a new vision of their symbolic and sensory functioning.
