The TourisFarm project has been selected under the Erasmus+ KA220-HED 2025 call for cooperation among organizations and institutions. The initiative aims to strengthen agritourism through the creation of smart clusters that integrate intangible cultural heritage, sustainable farming practices, and advanced digital marketing tools.
The research team is led by the University of Vigo and includes three CISPAC members: Diego Rodríguez Toubes (principal coordinator), José Antonio Fraiz Brea, and Noelia Araújo. Other partners are the Università degli Studi di Padova (Italy), Porto Business School – Universidade do Porto (Portugal), Univerza na Primorskem – Università del Litorale (Slovenia), the technology company FeedYou S.R.O. (Czech Republic), and the consultancy Sherpa S.R.L. (Italy).
The main objectives of TourisFarm are to:
- Co-design and pilot an open curriculum on sustainable and digital rural tourism for higher education institutions and small businesses.
- Develop digital tools for responsible agritourism marketing.
- Create pilot agricultural clusters in two cross-border areas (Spain–Portugal and Italy–Slovenia) to improve local incomes, preserve traditions, and increase resilience to climate change.
- Provide evidence-based recommendations to foster sustainable, inclusive, and resilient rural tourism.
With a total budget of €400,000 and a three-year duration starting on 1 September 2025, the project will deliver digital platforms, educational modules for university students and sector professionals, as well as innovative marketing experiences (AI-powered chatbots and immersive extended reality applications).
