The Directory of Global Artists in Galicia will be launched on 28 November at Culturgal. The publication brings together 32 projects led by migrant women active in the performing arts, music, dance and multidisciplinary creation. It is one of the outcomes of the project Women at the Front from the Global South, funded by Galician Cooperation and coordinated by Luzia Oca (USC), conceived as a participatory action-research process.
The project was developed in collaboration with faculty from the three Galician universities and the social organisation Ecos do Sur. Among the participating researchers are Antía Pérez Caramés, Belén Fernández Suárez and Keina Espiñeira, members of the ESOMI–UDC team linked to CISPAC, who contributed to the analysis and preparation of the directory.
The presentation at Culturgal will include an explanation of the research process and a round table with several of the artists featured in the publication, who will share their experiences as migrant creators in Galicia.
