The CISPAC has been awarded one of the SERenidade Awards 2026, granted by Cadena SER, in recognition of its values, its work, and its scientific and institutional project.
In its statement, the jury described CISPAC as “a unique, new-generation centre and a pioneer in the field of social sciences and humanities”, highlighting in particular its ability to develop high-level research through cooperation between the three Galician universities. The centre currently brings together 108 high-level researchers integrated into 36 research groups from the Universities of Santiago de Compostela, Vigo and A Coruña. According to the jury, it is “a clear example of how unity of action among the seven campuses is essential to address the challenges ahead”.
In this edition, the SERenidade Awards 2026 also recognised other individuals, institutions and initiatives of outstanding value. The jury honoured the Galician forest firefighters for their work during the worst wave of wildfires in the country’s recent history; oncologist Rafael López for his career in research and the fight against cancer; actress Mabel Rivera for her distinguished cultural career; the company Casa Grande de Xanceda for its ecological production model and commitment to rural areas; and surfer and medical doctor Guillermo Carracedo for his international sporting achievements.
The SERenidade Awards 2026 ceremony will take place on the evening of 12th February at the Auditorio de Galicia.
