On 22 September, CISPAC took part in the first working meeting of the Action Group on Generational Renewal in Agriculture, held at the headquarters of the Roberto Rivas Foundation in Sestelo-Siador, in the municipality of Silleda. Laura Oso, the centre’s Deputy Scientific Director, attended on behalf of CISPAC. The session formed part of the initial launch phase of the Alliance for a Resilient Rural Territory.
The meeting aimed to define priorities for the coming months, taking the measures set out in the Alliance’s Action Plan as a starting point. Participants shared experiences and contributions to help define joint tasks relating to generational renewal in agriculture.
The next steps include creating an online collaboration space and building a support network for people wishing to enter the primary sector. The organisers are collating the information gathered during the meeting to develop a proposal for specific tasks and a work schedule. The group remains open to new individuals and organisations wishing to contribute to these objectives.

The Alliance for a Resilient Rural Territory emerged from the collective reflection undertaken at the Resilient Rural Territory Forum. It is an open collaborative network bringing together individuals, entities, public authorities and organisations committed to spatial planning and the active management of Galicia’s agricultural and forest land. With a practical, long-term approach, it promotes action groups to turn the Forum’s proposals into concrete initiatives on the ground.
Interested individuals and organisations can find further information and join the initiative through the Resilient Rural Territory Forum website.
