Last Monday, May 5th, the first presentation of the Elgar Encyclopedia on Global Migration: New Mobilities and Artivism was held in the city of A Coruña, a collective work that offers a critical and multidisciplinary look at contemporary migratory processes, activism and cultural production.
Two of the encyclopedia’s editors participated in the event: Laura Oso, deputy director of CISPAC and Professor of Sociology at the UDC, and Natalia Ribas-Mateos, researcher at the TRANSMENA group (UAB) and Mesopolhis (Aix-Marseille). In addition, a panel was held in which some of the encyclopedia entries prepared by Galician researchers linked to CISPAC were presented: Keina Espiñeira, Raquel Martínez Buján, Paloma Moré and Antía Pérez-Caramés. The panel was completed by Iria Vázquez Silva, professor of sociology at the University of Vigo.

The work delves into the new challenges of human mobility in a global context marked by the digitalization of social life and the transformation of borders. Furthermore, this work offers an innovative approach that combines academic analysis and critical practices to reflect on emerging forms of resistance and justice linked to migration.
