CISPAC has launched the 4th edition of the Xan de Forcados programme, an in-house initiative aimed at strengthening scientific collaboration within the centre through the leadership of postdoctoral researchers.
The call, issued under a competitive funding scheme, will support up to four research projects with a maximum grant of €4,000 each. Proposals must bring together inter-university teams, involving at least two of the institutions that make up CISPAC —University of Santiago de Compostela, University of A Coruña and University of Vigo—, and may also include predoctoral researchers and, exceptionally, senior researchers.
Beyond funding, the programme is designed as a tool to foster meaningful synergies between research lines and groups, promoting projects aligned with the centre’s scientific agenda and incorporating collaborative and, where appropriate, participatory approaches.
Applications must include a short CV of the applicants, a project proposal, a budget, a motivation letter and a declaration of compliance. The submission period will remain open for 21 calendar days from the publication of the call, with the deadline set for 26 May 2026.
The programme is named after Xoán López Suárez, known as Xan de Forcados, a key figure in the development of science in Galicia during the 20th century, linked to the promotion of the Junta para Ampliación de Estudios and the creation of institutions such as the Misión Biológica de Galicia. The programme is aimed at postdoctoral researchers affiliated with CISPAC within the framework of the 2025–2026 strategic R&D actions.
