New research seminar: Rodolfo Omar Arellano-Aguilar and Guiomar Acevedo López (UNAM)

CISPAC is organizing a new research seminar that will feature the participation of two invited academics from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM): Rodolfo Omar Arellano-Aguilar and Guiomar Acevedo López.

Rodolfo Omar Arellano-Aguilar, professor at the National School of Earth Sciences at UNAM and member of the National System of Researchers and Investigators (SNII), will present a conference entitled Socio-environmental interconnections: river pollution in Mexico and its impacts on health . Rodolfo, with extensive experience in ecological risk and aquatic ecotoxicology, will address the effects of river pollution in Mexico and its impact on health, highlighting the connections between environmental degradation and social consequences.

For her part, Guiomar Acevedo López, historian and professor at UNAM, specializing in memory and forced displacement in the 20th century, will offer the talk Before exile: forced displacement and refugees during the Civil War . Her speech will focus on the situation of refugees and displaced persons during the Spanish Civil War, a key topic for understanding the dynamics of memory, exile and identity in the European context.

This activity will take place at CISPAC Seminar 103, with the first intervention at 11:00 and the second at 12:00.
