The Faculty of Philology and Translation at the University of Vigo will host the 3rd International Colloquium on Literary Studies in Vigo on 9–10 October 2025. The academic event is organized by the Interuniversity Doctoral Programme in Literary Studies (PDIEL) of the Universities of A Coruña and Vigo, the research group BiFeGa, and the First International José Saramago Chair at UVigo.
Paper proposals may be submitted until 10 September 2025 to bifega@uvigo.gal, including an abstract of up to 500 words, keywords, a title, and a short biobibliographical note.
The colloquium will take place in a hybrid format —in person at the Faculty of Philology and Translation and online via the University of Vigo’s Remote Campus— and will feature 15-minute presentations in Galician, Spanish, Portuguese, or English. Main thematic areas include: Galician, Spanish, Portuguese, English, and French literatures; translation and cultural studies; visual arts, theatre, and cinema; as well as history and interarts studies.
A keynote lecture will be delivered by Professor Helena González Fernández (University of Barcelona). In addition, travel and accommodation grants will be available for PhD students enrolled in the organizing universities’ doctoral programme.
Full details on the event and the submission process are available on the website of the International José Saramago Chair.
