25/03/2026

The University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) has published the resolution of the Extraordinary Doctorate Prizes for the 2023–2024 academic year, an award that recognises the best doctoral theses defended at the institution over the past year.

Among this year’s awardees is Fernando de la Torre Cuevas, a researcher affiliated with CISPAC, whose doctoral thesis was supervised by Edelmiro López Iglesias. The prize acknowledges the excellence of his research work, placing him among the most outstanding doctoral graduates at USC. His thesis is entitled “Expanding hybrid approaches to construct (inter)regional input-output models”.

The Extraordinary Doctorate Prizes are one of the university’s highest academic distinctions and aim to highlight the quality of research produced and the capabilities of early-career researchers. From the centre, we would like to congratulate Fernando on his research work and this recognition.
