Researchers from the Grupo de Estudios para la Prehistoria del Noroeste Ibérico – Arqueología, Antigüedad y Territorio (GEPN-AAT) receive the prize to Cultural and Scientific Initiatives 2022, awarded at the XLV edition of the Galician Critics’ Awards.
The “Research on the Palaeolithic of the Serras Orientais. A Cova de Eirós (Triacastela)” receives the prize for Cultural and Scientific Initiatives 2022 at the Galician Critics’ Awards. This research, led by CISPAC researchers Ramón Fábregas Valcarce (coordinator of the GEPN- AAT) and Arturo de Lombera Hermida, has stood out among the other candidates not only for its temporal dimension, but also for its potential to boost a rural area of less than a thousand inhabitants, and the synergies generated with the neighbours, after the declaration of Cova de Eirós as a site of cultural interest (BIC) in the category of archaeological sites.
