Conference by Enrique Perdiguero Gil and Eduardo Bueno Vergara

On Thursday 9 March, CISPAC will be visited by Enrique Perdiguero Gil and Eduardo Bueno Vergara, with their presentation “Health reform and rural medicine: an impossible encounter? “

Enrique Perdiguero Gil is Doctor of Medicine from the University of Alicante and
Enrique Perdiguero Gil is Doctor of Medicine from the University of Alicante and Professor of History of Science at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche. He is
director of the headquarters, at this university, of the López Piñero Inter-University Institute and of the
Advanced Studies Group in the History of Health and Medicine. His
research focuses on the history of public health in Spain, especially in
relation to health education, and the history of education, and the history of health care pluralism.

Eduardo Bueno Vergara holds a PhD in History from the University of Alicante and a Master’s degree in
History of Science and Scientific Communication. He is an assistant lecturer in the area of
History of Science at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche and researcher at the
López Piñero Institute. His lines of research focus on
the history of climate, food control and health and disease in 18th century
in Alicante. Currently, his main line of research deals with the history of
health and illness in the context of the Franco dictatorship.
