Yesterday, July 15, a new CISPAC Scientific Committee meeting took place at 9:30 a.m. in the center’s facilities. It was attended in person by Lourenzo Fernández Prieto (scientific director, USC), Laura Oso (deputy director, UdC) e Xavier Simón (transfer manager, UVigo), together with Stefania Barca (USC), Elvira Santiago Gómez (UdC), José Carlos Sánchez Pardo (USC), David Peón Pose (UdC) and José Antonio Fraiz Brea (UVigo). They were joined by Aurora Grandal-d’Anglade (UdC) and Trinidad Domínguez Vila (UVigo) telematically.
The current Scientific Committee was elected in December of last year, with a participation of 64.5%. This is the first Scientific Committee in the history of CISPAC. Of its 11 members, 6 are women and 5 are men, which proves the gender balance. The functions of this Committee are to propose to the Governing Council (highest governing body) the appointment of the scientific director, to propose the association of new CISPAC members, to propose the disassociation of CISPAC’s research staff and to approve the scientific program and annual teacher of the center.
