On 9–10 July 2026, the Universidade de Vigo will host the international seminar New Relational Challenges in Contemporary Literature and Culture, organized by the Pandora Literary Gender Studies group together with the research project Communitas/Immunitas: Relational Ontologies in Atlantic Anglophone Cultures of the 21st Century (PID2022-136904NB-100).
The event will bring together scholars interested in examining how contemporary literature and culture address topics such as:
- Posthumanism, more-than-human perspectives, and hybrid relationalities.
- Gender, identity, and the reconfiguration of the subject.
- Affects, emotions, and embodied experiences.
- New forms of motherhood, fatherhood, and reproductive narratives.
- Care, vulnerability, and dependency in contemporary culture.
- Collectivity beyond the nuclear family.
- Feminist and queer futures.
- Literary and cultural responses to ecological and technological changes.
